What this tool does

A focused job, with a visible boundary.

Read the QR code first. Nothing opens automatically, and the selected image is not uploaded.

Local image decoding

02

Exact decoded-content preview

03

No automatic navigation

Know the limits

Local does not mean unlimited.

Browser processing protects the file from an upload workflow, but the browser, device, output format, and selected settings still matter.

  • A locally decoded destination can still be malicious or misleading.
  • Tiny, blurred, damaged, or highly stylized QR codes may not decode.
  • The tool does not contact a reputation service or follow redirects.

Four local steps

How to use qr scanner.

  1. 01

Choose a screenshot or photo containing one QR code.

  2. 02

Let the browser decode the pixels locally.

  3. 03

Read the complete decoded content and any URL warnings.

  4. 04

Copy it or deliberately open a supported web URL.

Clear answers

QR scanner questions.

Will scanning open the link automatically?

No. The tool displays the exact decoded content first and requires a separate deliberate action before opening an HTTP or HTTPS link.

Can I scan using my phone camera?

The file chooser can offer the camera on supported mobile browsers. The tool does not keep a continuous camera stream.

Does the tool determine whether a link is safe?

No. It can highlight obvious structural concerns, but it does not visit the URL or query an external reputation database.
